Considerably better than 2016 for me. Perfect ripeness, long and supple tannins. This producer consistently kills it with the elegant Negroamaro style in my opinion.

A solid wine for the price.
Dark crushed cherry jubilee nose..
Those crushed cherries predominant, a touch of the obscure mint, medium. Bodied with a lovely mouthfeel, amd the slightest of ripe fruit sweetness. High acidity, and perfect grape skin tannins. A good Negroamaro, gets better every year.

Founded in 1979 by Giovanni Cantele and his two sons Augusto and Domenico. Ruby with big fruit aromas with sweet jammy notes. On the palate concentrated berry fruit flavors, a bit jammy and sweet, lively acidity, surprisingly great balance. Firm tannins yielding a medium finish ending with noticeable alcohol. Good value for a wine with a bit of complexity.

Transparent brilliant ruby purple. Blackberry with hints of vanilla on the nose. Echoed on the palate with bright, medium plus acidity. Short-ish finish, but this is a food wine. Drink in the year.

A good, fruity, balanced pasta wine. Dark color. Lots of dark, ripe berry fruit, with a slight hint of prune. A bit of minerality comes out in the mouth. Straightforward, and in a modern style. Decent buy at $12.
