What is your absolute favourite #wine and food match?

Steak 🥩 and red has to be up there for me and this #Durif, Mushroom & Muscat sauce sounds plate-lickeningly delicious smothered all over a nice juicy steak! This recipe is care of Prue Campbell as part of @wineselectors Family Favourites Collection.

Unfortunately none of this #sample bottle of Campbell’s 2015 Limited Release #Rutherglen Durif went into making sauce though. I love Durif and couldn’t bring myself to part with it. Next time!

📝 In the glass it’s a deep red shade. Mulberry, blackberry and cedar aromas rose from the glass while in the mouth it’s deep with flavour yet full of juicy, fresh berry fruits and a nice dark chocolate 🍫 backbone. Mr Spittoon was lucky to get some, let alone it going into a sauce 🤣

Really interesting wine. Balanced fruit, great acidity. Started maybe a little chewy but smoothed out nicely after sitting for a couple of hours.

I've tried this before and liked it more than tonight, it's well made but very primary right now.
