Campbells
Bobbie Burns Shiraz
Absolutely in great shape
Just not an outstanding wine, but very economical too
Better than an average Oz new release of any sort

Definitely hitting the ‘subtle’ in oak. More typical Shiraz (not my normal fare) than I’d hope for.

Jul 31st, 2024This is the final bottle in my #12daysofshiraz quest where I've matched 12 Aussie Shiraz's up with food (blog post to come). Introducing the Campbell's 2015 Bobbie Burns Shiraz from Rutherglen in Victoria.
We teamed this up with straight out of the jar VinoFood's Mandarin, Chilli & Shiraz Chocolate Sauce - oh what a night! The two went beautifully together with a bit of Netflix on the side 😜
This Aussie Shiraz is a deep ruby red with scents of black fruits, liquorice and a lick of oak on the nose. The palate is full of elegance, wonderfully juicy blackberry fruit and earthy/savoury tannins on the finish. A superb match to the chocolate-orange inspired sauce!
A big thanks to the team at Wine Selectors who've given me the opportunity to give their exclusive Australian First Families of Wine 'Australian Shiraz Showcase a test run. You can find out more about this special dozen on the blog: travellingcorkscrew.com.au/blog/australias-first-families-of-wine
All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy! #sample #tcweekdaywine #tctastingnotes

Dark garnet, typical nose. Light to medium body, smooth, touch fruity, black cherry, smooth, low acidity and light tannins.

Dec 5th, 2020Hello old friend. Smooth and violety with bright red and black fruit! Red licorice, pepper, star anise, all spice. All in all, fucking delicious. A beautiful cool climate Shiraz, not too jammy. I haven't had this in a long time, and it's very welcome in these trying times
