Surprisingly intriguing nose of grape jelly bellies, cherry cola, black pepper, black licorice, and a little fresh cut forest. Raspberry tart and toasted oak comes through on the palate, but I find it to be somewhat austere otherwise with an absent mid palate. toasted oak. Elevated finish of red fruit and heavy cream, smooth feel but a little bit of heat is there. Good start and finish to this effort, however the middle is lacking. The nose saves this one for me.
