My first Etna wine. Impressive mix of lots of things I like from different grapes, all in one glass. Fruity and fresh but with depth , spice, and complexity. Somewhat pinot like in weight, but with tannin and structure. And even the sour cherry notes of a nebbiolo. Then there is a more meaty, herbal ending, like a southern rhone and tannin that gives a real firmness without weight. Balanced and really interesting. Would buy again in a heartbeat. Good alternative to chianti or fruitier expressions of rioja. Med bodied but with real fruit freshness and interest.
