Mar 8th, 2016It's often said "it's better to be lucky than good." For the dicey 2011 vintage, being both was vital. One needed to be lucky with weather in the vineyard and good with both viticulture and winemaking. This wine is a great example of just that. It's expressive and earthy with briary black fruit--especially blackberry--and coffee. The medium-bodied palate is graceful and framed by very fine, soft tannins. It's super drinkable now, but will age for several years yet. 13.1% alc. $125

Feb 21st, 2016Upon opening the aromas are soft berries. Minimal aftertaste. Very smooth finish. Very deep purple red color. 2011. The petite Verdot really smoothed out the finish. I highly recommend this wine. Great with steak
