Cadle Family Wines
Chalk Hill Dolcetto
First red wine we tried from Cadle Family Wines. This one is made from a fun little grape known as "little sweet one". Garnet red with deep, dark purplish core. Very intriguing nose that started with a savory attack, both cheese and a little stinky. Opened up with lots of strawberries, almonds and anise undertones. Palate was coated in black cherries, a little creamy and semi-sweet. Moderate tannins (6.5/10) and moderate plus body. Great structure, quite smooth and rounded. Not sharp and definitely held well together over the four day period we tasted it, great value. Long and dry finish. Drink till 2022.
