$30?? Wow. Fantastic value - Coda is a blend of the other 4 red wines when they decide the rest of the juice just doesn't cut the bill. It reflects the general whole harvest for each new vintage - sort of their "nouveau" to announce the vintage, but nothing light and lacking complexity. This year was predominate Cabernet Franc in the blend, with all 5 Bordeaux varietals total. Pepper, wild cherries, red apple skins, and leather on the nose. The pallet is bright, and lush, exhibiting notes of cranberry, black casis, bell pepper, vanilla, and a medium finish. Excellent stuff to keep on retainer.
