Surprising lack of fruit for a California Pinot Noir, both in the nose and on the palate. Tar, earth and minerals, with the tar standing out. Not quite the classic tar and roses of Barolo or Nebbiolo; more its own thing. Didn’t hate it but didn’t love it, either. Had the 2012 vintage with pan-roasted pork chops.

Nice tannins and structure for a Pinot. Good balanced fruit and showing a bit of age. Great with BLT lunch!
