A highlight of the day from Mark! Just below Howell Mountain, I've had a few Burgess wines that are killer. This '01 is drinking in its prime window. Leather, earth and fruit are all dominant. Mainly black and red fruits with a last breath from blue fruits. Drink up!

Magnificent wine. Good acids, lively fruit flavors, blackberry, currant, with some leather and flint, but not too much. There is a lot of life left in the wine, very little sediment.
