Bryant Family Vineyard
Proprietor Grown Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Needed about an hour of air, but then simply mind-blowing. Cassis and dark leathery notes, blueberry reduction, round and nicely resolved at this point. Years to go but no need to wait if you have access to a decanter… Superb.

Sep 12th, 202302’ Bryant Family. 100% Cabernet.Deep ruby color is deceiving for its age. What gives it away is the the pale purple edges . Aromas of red berries, licorice. Palate is full of muddled /muted red fruits roasted olives, grainy tannins & light acidity.

Mar 14th, 2021A friend had a “reduction party” as he was needing to thin out his cellar. Definitely a party I’m happy to attend!
If picking, this was my wine of the night. One of those wines that just mesmerizes you and has you thinking about it days later. A perfect balance of classic Napa cab and new school style. I’d call this high toned in the way it shows such a gorgeous lift to the aromatics. So perfumed. Espresso, melted chocolate, ripe and candied black cherries, fresh squeezed blackberries, brown sugar and sandalwood. It’s impeccably balanced on the palate...decadent, yet restrained. Baking spices dance on the tongue, enveloped in dark red plum, bayleaf and the perfect marriage of acidity and tannin. Drop dead gorgeous now and for many years to come.

Less impressive than I had hoped...silky smooth and good red fruit on the palate but lacked the acidity and structure I expect this wine to have. Still didn’t suck with some ribeye and king crab!

Nov 4th, 2019Good dark red. Expressive, complex scents of plum, black raspberry, cedar, tobacco leaf, mocha and minerals. Fine-grained and energetic on the palate, with its sweet plum and mocha flavors lifted by a floral element. There's something Pomerol-like about this wine, which is about much more than simply primary fruit and displays more energy than either the '08 or '07 Bryant bottlings. A youthful yet already impeccably balanced wine with great class and finesse, this beauty finishes with utterly seamless, noble tannins. (Stephen tanzer, Vinous, July 2019)

Aug 29th, 2019Surprisingly, this one was not as big as the Futo. I am a big fan of anything from Prichard Hill and was intrigued seeing this one on the list. Gave it an hour to open up and had a fantastic ribeye to pair it with! In retrospect, I think I would have flipped the sequence. (All bullshit aside on sequencing, this is still an amazing wine and I am just being anal).. The color was still a nice deep violet with strong dark fruits. Great pedigree with Helen Turley on the planting and David Abreu on the vineyard management. What could ever go wrong?

May 30th, 2019Soft and elegant red cherries 🍒 married with notes of tobacco cigars. Wow this is soooo approachable.

May 2nd, 2019Good after an hour, great after two...this had the classic sticky sweet red fruit characteristic of this vineyard but more subdued than other vintages. Still my favorite Napa Cab!
