This was our Sunday night – red wine, homemade pies and salad (#balance). I have to admit, it made the end of the week pretty darn enjoyable.

This bottle of Brown Brothers 2018 Limited Release Malbec is part of the REDvolution Wine Selectors case. I was kindly gifted a sample case by Wine Selectors (thank you!).

This special case (which may or may not be still available – sorry guys it’s been crazily popular!) is made up of red wines from 11 of Australia’s oldest family owned, multi-generational wine businesses. This group is known as Australia’s First Families of Wine. The collection is exclusive to Wine Selectors and costs only $216 (so $18 a bottle).

The Brown Brorthers single varietal Malbec is made from Heathcote fruit (VIC). It is a medium bodied red wine which is described by Brown Brothers as being extremely good friendly. Hence why I thought it’d go down well with our Sunday dinner.

Here are our notes on it:

Cherry red colour in the glass. It’s super aromatic with sweet vanilla laced plums, a sprinkling of fresh blackberries and some oaky-earthiness to it. That earthiness flows through to the palate and is joined by pomegranate acidity, some mouth tingling spice and a super juicy plush mouthfeel.

This wine was sent to me direct from Wine Selectors as a sample, I was under no obligation to post about it.

All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy!
