Sweet P Brooks Estate Vineyard Riesling
2014; Father's Day 2022.
š
Apple juice, dehydrated nectarine, green banana peel, faint vanilla creme, old vinyl | š
Honey drizzle over fresh apple pie, under-ripe yellow apple, white peach. Considerably more advanced than our prior bottle, seems some bottle variation here, but one more bottle in the cellar for confirmation.

Wicked petrol nose, picking up some sweetness as it warms. Very nice! Many years remain in this bottle, do not retaste until 2024.

Drank way too young, but so good for dessert. Love the sweet p.

Jun 7th, 2016Such a treat to attend Brooks Wines first University event led by Alder Yarrow and Brooks' talented winemaker, Chris Williams. As Alder put it, the 2014 Sweet P Riesling is "fresh as a button." Spot on, Mr. Yarrow, in addition, lilting notes of green apples, white peaches, spring flowers, mint and the merest hint of pea shoot. Lush and layered, there is perceptible sweetness as the name implies, but it's well-balanced by spritely acidity amidst bosc pears and quince. Finishes with a touch of spice. Thai food, anyone?

Sep 17th, 2015Pale yellow, mild nose of straw and maybe apple or pear. Very smooth medium bodied white on the sweet creamy side but also some dryness too. Mild acidity but when paired with some cheese it seems to present more acidic and a nice balance. Better with an aged hard Gouda/Roomano. If you like sweet wines then this is excellent!

Aug 11th, 2020Disappointing. 2011 vintage consumed in 2018. Disjointed structure, way too harshly acidic.
I would say perhaps it should cellar a little longer, but it was already showing oxidative qualities, and not in a good way.
This all of course is the vintage though. I've had other vintages that were tasty. 2011 was cold and perhaps the fruit didn't ripen sufficiently.
