Ahh good to be home. Second vintage of Broc’s Vermentino, and the last of my summer shipment. I didn’t like the 2023 so much, but now I’m sure I had an off bottle. Not fully corked, but it was much funkier, which I thought was from the brief skin contact. This bottle of 24 is really nice. Lemon and citrus, light pear, salt and black pepper. Not hazy or funky like an orange wine. Nuanced but still casual.

Sep 1st, 2025Interesting new one from Broc. Grapefruit and underripe pear, with lemon and saltiness. Slightly foggy from some skin contact. The finish is a bit flat and bitter, so not my favorite of their portfolio. Organic. Still good for Thursday take out.
