1 person found it helpfulDec 30th, 2014New grape Blatina. Dark with scarlet rim. Austere funky grape jelly nose. A musty chocolate aroma. Black grape and the stems with hints of premature bottle bouquet. Lots of green acid. Lingering finish with pine and earth. $27 retail.

Jun 25th, 20162012. My first time tasting a Blatina. Very pleasant and bright. Softly fruited. Gently spiced. Structured but mild. And aged in Bosnian wood (apparently somewhat similar to Slovenian wood).

Aug 4th, 2015Drinking this one cold next to the barbeque. Breaking the domestic rules but sticking with blue white and red.

Apr 24th, 2019Very tasty wine. Earthy and dry with significant tannic structure. Lighter on the palate than I was expecting...would consider more of a med-full body wine.

Oct 19th, 2017My first blatina. Only two of these have been imported into the states. Most is consumed locally. Aged in local oak barrels. Vanilla and Cinnamon oak spices. Nice juicy purple and blue fruits. Rich. Fruit forward wine. Has a "tobacco flavored" aftertaste at the end.
