2016 barrel sample.
This is gonna be awesome. Very prominent tannins, which are to be expected. Notes of coffee and maple syrup on the nose. Deep extraction, similar to a bottomless pit. Huge overripe cherries, cassis and a muscular frame. Finishes with urgency. A stellar example from a great producer.

The second year of this great wine. '14 yielded twice the production of '13 and expanded from Stags Leap to Rutherford. This resulted in a RP rating of 94 pt. Congratulations John and Stacey. Dark berries with hints of cocoa, tobacco and cinnamon. Adding to my collection!

Just like I remembered it when tasting it at the 750 tasting in Napa back in February!! Soft an elegant hints of melted milk chocolate with notes of ripe black cherries. Soft tannins - this is a stunner!
