Machado Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir
Sta. Rita Hills, Central Coast, California, USA
The 2022 Pinot Noir Machado is a pretty wine with understated density and terrific balance. Dark red/purplish fruit, lavender, rose petal, mint, spice and blood orange fill out the layers. Machado is the most reticent of the vineyard designates. It will be interesting to see what time brings here. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, August 2024)

You can’t say much more than this is perhaps the finest Pinot Noir available.
It opens up bright, but mid pallet brings on more complex flavors than you’d expect from a Pinot grape. Finish is a bit earthy and delightful.
Thank you Brewer-Clifton for this wonderful Pinot Noir.

Rated 96 by Wine Spectator in 2024, this Santa Rita Hills Pinot is the best I’ve tasted. Bright red cherry overtones with tea and an earthy smooth finish. A very fine red wine
