I think this is around 15% but it doesn't have a hint of the heat that over-powered this wine 2 years ago. A balanced beauty now. Ripe cherry, floral notes and I do pick up some of the stem flavor (I think they employ whole bunch fermentation) but to me I like the character it provides. Modern? Yes. Big? Yes. Do I like it? Yes. Do I like Burgundy more? Yes. Do I like both blondes and brunettes? Absolutely. So why can't we have both?

Burgundian-style Pinot created in the Santa Rita Hills. The soils and earth, root vegetables, black currants and hints of cherry make up a stellar wine with incredible depth! Love this Brewer-Clifton Ampelos!

May 26th, 2013Just fantastic! 12 years, showing a bit of age but still has many years. Very fruit forward, cherry, pumpkin spice, herbaceous, nice acidity.
