3-D Sta. Rita Hills Chardonnay

Steely, honeyed and reductive all at the same time. Smoked lychee and pear aromatics. Medium acidity with a tart lemon and sharp notes of lemon candy finish. Some hints of petrol came out after some time. Drink up.

A little oxidized on the nose: nutty caramel aromas. But nice sharp fruits on the palate: citrus, lemon zest & hints of minerality.

15’ Baby... needs a year or two.

Trying this next to the ‘11 Marcassin was quite interesting. This was borderline reductive in profile. More Chablis like than typical Cali chard. At 9yrs though, the bright fruit has darkened a bit...golden pear, kumquat, sea spray aromatics. Tart on the palate with oyster shell and bruised Granny Smith apple.

Ok this is wine and me before wine - notice the beginnings of a smile - just a little tune up before out with friends and practicing for tomorrow when we crack open some lovely delicious rested beautiful bottles of silky smooth red - but back to tonight and this chard is singing to me - in three part harmony - smile people as it contiguous 😄

This is really really good - almost like a sauv blanc with chard color but crisp and fruit forward instead of oaky and buttery - oh yeah baby as Austin Powers would say
