Bressler
St. Helena Cabernet Sauvignon
At 10 years of age, I think this one is doing well. Probably a couple of years away from the top but overall excellent structure. Compared to a 13, this cork was a bit darker as you would expect. Darker fruit profile on the nose and palate as well. Blackberry, pie spice, dark chocolate, herbal. Finishes with a hint of cola. Tannins have started to resolve. All in all this wine has come along nicely. A bit different than the 13 that it was consumed alongside, but both wines have excellent structure and an excellent pedigree!

Jul 13th, 2019Showing better than my last bottle, over a year ago. Medium-to-full bodied and quite elegant. The palate is full of red and black fruits offering a surprising degree of freshness despite being 9 years old. There’s a blanket of fine grained tannins on the back end that provide a sense of grip and lead to a long, dusty finish. Excellent.

Dec 15th, 2018Nice mid-to-full bodies cab that seems to be at the front end of its drinking window. I’m looking forward to seeing how my other two bottles do with additional cellar time.
