Really terrific Muscadet. Thrill ride from the first sip - I actually found this even more exciting than the 2014 Clos des Briords. It's got a dynamic, sizzling texture, almost rieslingesque, with lots of flinty mineral and craggy rock. But it's not just the icy cool palate refresher that Muscadet sometimes is - there is flesh and generosity and some deeper tones to this as well - in other words that extra little something absent from a lot of these that tends to consign them to that "poor man's Chablis" no-man's land is here in spades. Of course the ultimate test of any Muscadet is how it plays with sea creatures especially of the raw variety and this did just great with a sushi dinner, amplifying the sea at Spinal Tap levels and leaving a backdraft of briny ocean with each sip.
