Brasserie Cantillon
Saint Lamvinus Lambic Beer
A beer/wine or a wine/beer? this is a little shady, isn't it? The fact is that we are faced with a Lambic beer from Brussels and Merlot grape in Bordeaux macerated together for average in oak casks then re-fermented in the bottle. I love Cantillon pretty much, they produce phenomenal acidic beers, I should say as well that Saint-Lamvinus is not one of my favourite of the list. Over acidity, imbalance and too sour red fruit; a kind of drink that can be curious at first sip, weird second, cloying third. What a match by the way on pizza Supergennarino buffalo mozzarella and Vesuvius cherry tomatoes (pomodorini del Piennolo) made to perfection by my dear friend Pierluigi Police Pizzeria Birreria 'O Scugnizzo in Arezzo city. http://www.cantillon.be/

Feb 9th, 2016What tonight was all about! Drinking this rare cuvee (a gueuze made with merlot and cabernet grapes from bordeaux) where I finally got my hands on. Did what it had to do. 'wine' of the night!
