Lovely wine to have with the final red meat dish. Some leather notes starting to come through while still full of life and richness. More weight than Aussie barberas and a lot more intrigue.

Very cherry and blackberry taste with a hint of pepper. Smell of smoke and dried firewood. Dry but smooth and easy to drink.

Classic d'asti Barbera. Good weight, forward fruit, short finish. Wife approved.

Outstanding! The bitters and cherry of a Manhattan! The oak here balances out any sourness with spice. Very, very nice. A great accompaniment tonight for mint-laced meatballs.
