Boudreaux Cellars
Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon
Boudreaux off the power grid so everything aged underground and the current release is 2009. A good hand of fresh plowed black earth and dark berry fruit a bit harsh and tannic will the fruit last 20 years?

Aug 14th, 20142009v. This wine is delightful. Fresh and tart red fruit forward (red currants, cranberry, cassis), lively acid, and well integrated french oak. Simple and straightforward, but well executed. Somehow, I was able to nab three bottles at a steal of $20/bottle. I should've bought more!

Sep 19th, 2020Fresh nose with a nice sting of raspberry. Some spice and herb. Nicely incorporated tannins (fine/med) with nice balance. Lighter in body than I expected but an absolute joy!

Oct 5th, 2018Dark with nice black cherry, anise, and spice. Open in the decanter but the aerator was helpful.

May 30th, 2016I had this a few weeks back, so it's more of a memory than a tasting note.
Doesn't get a lot better than this, in my opinion. This is a 95 WE wine, and for good reason. Tons of deep cab fruit. Great powerful tannins. Lots if life yet, but drinking ok for my palate. I like the intensity sometimes (which isn't to say that the tannins overwhelmed), just big.
A really great wine.
We drank this the same night as some ohter goodies. A 2009 Gramercy Cellars Lower East and a 2010 Cayuse Callioux vineyard syrah.
It was definitely the punchiest. The only weakness was the lack of the earth component, which could have been due to drinking next to a Great, earthy balanced cab from Gramercy and the funk of a Cayuse wine.
It was still my (narrow) fav of the night, which is saying something.
