Distinguishes itself from new world Pinot Noir because of its sappy, earthy nose and palate - lighter fruit with some dry cherry - a light to medium weight palate. Somewhat lacking for a Premier Cru - I have been a little disappointed occasionally with L’Enfant Jesus in the past. After an hour or two a lovely earthy cherry perfume. Similar in standard to the Bass Phillip Premium.

Aromas of Sous Bois and savoury cherry. Faint on the nose and ultimately faint on the palate. Light to barely medium weight on the palate. Somewhat light for a Premier Cru but I have had that experience before. The thing with Burgundy is that you can pay a lot of money and be disappointed and every so often you can get a Burgundy that blows your socks off! Unfortunately this wasn’t one of those. Simply lacks the intensity and concentration for the price of this Premier Cru at $157. I have had Australian Pinots worth around $80 that are better than this.

Absolutely wonderful Beaune! Will definitely be keeping an eye out for this and other vintages for the cellar. Decadently soft mouthfeel. Loads of dark fruit and earth. Refined minerality with balanced oak presence. Best wine of the night.
