Home sweet home after a weekend in Luxembourg. Tomorrow is Poland's independence day so I wanted a serious pour to celebrate. I bought this bottle 11 years ago in France and it came along in the truck when we moved 6 years ago. It's gorgeous !
The nose shows dried rose petals, autumn smells from the forest, a bit of mushroom, a faded cherry note too. The palate shows good acid drive and a magnificent ripe and juicy cherry note. There is a bit of weight too, and you can tell 2009 was a solar year in Burgundy. A bit of tannins grip in the rear, cherry and a touch of oak on the finish that goes on for more than 40 seconds. This is great stuff!
