The nose opens bright and youthful with notes of plum and black berry with just a touch of smokiness. The palate is bright and fresh with lively acidity. The 60% Merlot really shows with flavors of red and black plum, sour cherry, dried herbs and black pepper all backed by soft, gentile tannins. The wine finishes peppery with lingering acidity. Great pasta wine.
