Feb 6th, 2016I have had a 2016 vintage of this wine about 3 months ago. This is the first time I have tried a 14. The consensus when trying the 16 was that these were better in their youth. After consuming this one, I will no longer subscribe to that belief. This wine is still very viscous. I still feel that the fruit notes are even a little bit muted this wine is still very viscous. I still feel that the fruit notes are even a little bit muted on the front and middle. The wine was served very chilled, which I actually preferred it closer to room temperature. Honey, lemon, mango, sharper as it opened but you can tell that the couple of years of age have started to soften and round out the fruit. I was getting some kiwi on the finish. Very lovely wine. I think I prefer this a slight bit over the 2016. That Petit Manseng (no experience) must be the rounding agent!

Golden hued. Waxy texture with lots of nice floral notes. A little sharp at first but with a bit of air and some time to warm up a bit, it becomes very nice.

White pepper, fruit pith, river rock, slick with a green leafy moss, underripe melon, clean linen- still warm from ironing- the wooden clothespin clatters at the bottom of the wicker hamper.

Nov 22nd, 2016Super nice white Rhone blend from Booker. A blend of Rousanne, Viognier, Marianne and Petit Manseng. Super crisp, citrusy and clean.

2014 | I really crush on Booker wines though I'm certain that I approach them with bias...go ahead and calibrate my score by a one point deduction if you want grave reality for your own wine purchasing decisions. That said, I love the luscious marzipan richness with fresh almond and quince in this roussanne viognier marsanne and PETIT MANSENG white blend. The mid palate takes me to these melons from Weiser Farms - Baroque looking little things, almost perfectly round with an electric citron green flesh and a goldleaf skin with emerald longitudinal stripes - Ogen Melons yum.
