Incredibly deep ruby in color, this Rosato displays ripe cherries, offset by tangerine, rose petals, and exotic spice. Soft textures lead in to a pure expression of floral-laced red fruits and minerals, finishing fresh but also showing a youthful structure. Slightly reticent aromas of herbs and red fruit initially, then opens with aeration to offer enticingly ripe, almost decadent red cherry and raspberry nectar aromas. Enters big and juicy, offering multilayered flavors of ripe red berries and cherries, then sleeker in the middle, offering a strong mineral underpinning along with hints of almond paste and lemon peel. Finishes with noteworthy tannic bite and lots of freshness and an intense note of cherry nectar. Another standout Rosato from Bonavita, in my opinion one of Italy’s 10 best Rosato producers. Jul 18th, 2018Deep pink. Sexy, aromatic nose of redcurrant, red cherry, rhubarb and white flowers. Then very spicy, with precise floral and saline nuances to the fruit-driven flavors. Finishes with excellent clarity and cut and a savory quality. Made from 10 to 80 year old vines of Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio, and Nocera grown at 250-300 meters above sea level. The 2019 Bonavita Rosato is an incredibly deep ruby color, so much so that you might mistake it for a red. On the nose, I’m finding an alluring mix of crushed cherries, offset by tangerine, rose petals, and the slightest hint of exotic savory spice. On the palate, soft textures usher in a remarkably pure expression of floral-laced red fruits and minerals, as it seems to hover across the senses over a core of vibrant acidity with hints of ginger and a gentle tug of tannin. The long finish is fresh but also showing a youthful structure, leading me to believe that this might be even better if given some time to unwind in the cellar. This blend of Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio, and Nocera is really quite stunning. (Eric Guido, Vinous, May 2020)

Fluorescent orange and blush. Candied almond and orange zest, tart red plum and dandelion. Oh Pomegranate palate, and just lovely minerality, with an almost silky residue which is lasting. Fresh apricot with clementine exclamation points.
