Boekenhoutskloof
Porcupine Ridge Coastal Region Syrah
Very spicy, olivine and blackberry/ raspberry character on nose, like a syrah should be. Simple on palate but harmonious, wonderfully spicy and savoury. Good acidity holds it together. Very good everyday drink!

Jan 19th, 2017Medium nose of ripe red berry and pepper. Light mouthfeel juxtaposed with heavy tobacco notes on the palette. Acid is high, but alcohol is higher and a bit intrusive. Low tannin. First sip I really liked but the finish is not making me happy. Hmmmmm. I'll finish this glass then try something else. #dontwaste

Sep 18th, 2015I made my first South African Bunny Chow this week (aka curry in a bread bowl) 🍛🍞The latest #thetcwineclub box was South African inspired and this pick was based on a recommendation by Reeva from Proudly South African in Perth.

We really enjoyed the Bunny Chow and this Boekenhoutskloof Porcupine Ridge 2014 Syrah was the perfect match with its spiced black fruit aromas and flavours. It’s most definitely a full bodied wine and I enjoyed the hints of black jellybeans that my palate seemed to pick up.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
‼️ Wine Fact: Shiraz & Syrah are the same grape variety. A winemaker will typically use one or the other to convey the style they have made. Syrah is more an old world elegant style while Shiraz is more a fruit driven and new world in style. Google it for more info.

All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy! #winesample #tcweekdaywine

Lots of spice and oak on first sip... A little more mellow with some air. Not a fan of syrah, but I like this one.

May 16th, 2016Great, light and and drinkable on its own. For the price, it's a steal.
