Pagos del Galir Valdeorras Godello

This was my first experience with the Iberian Godello grape. I expected something quite fruity from this wine, but was surprised to find a nose of lanolin, sage and a savory nuttiness. The palate is just as intriguing, with savory herbs and a distant grapefruit flavor in the background.

This house makes great godellos but this is their best. Ageing on lees makes it creamy and highlights the variety aromas.

This Godello was just bottle when we tried it! Still high acidity but great herbal and citric fruits notes!

2013, pure and salty

Spain rediscovering great forgoten varietals!

Nice medium bodied aromatic white.

Green pear, flowers and cream on the nose. Creamed apple joins in on the palate, with lots of. Right acidity and chalky minerality on the finish.

Happy about this.

First experience with this grape. Lovely.
