Valdemar has opened a state of the art, beautiful winery in Walla Walla and is bringing in some of the wines they are making in Spain where the family has been operating for over a century in the Rioja region. This Tempranillo based wine had distinct American oak notes but was well integrated with the wine and gave it great body and depth. Notes of dark red cherry and fig came through on the mid palate turning into a dry finish with notes of cigar box, autumn forest.

So much promise on the nose but doesn't deliver on the palette, not sure if it's just the vintage from this producer but extremely high in acidity, unbalanced and low on fruit or any other definable taste past the acidity.
