Apr 18th, 2013This is so bomb... And even more bomb because I picked it up for $6.75. Just a crianza but Conde Valdemar goes above and beyond with everything so I'd imagine this sees a year of oak and further bottle aging before release. It's an ’08 but I'd say it's still got another 5-10 years on it.
Delicious ripe strawberry, raisin, prune, dried red flower, dried blueberry, decomposing leaves, organic matter, irony minerality. Lots of dried fruit but the wine is so fresh and vibrant at the same time. Great acid backbone, mod tannin. Loving this.

Slightly acidic, candied fruit, something in it reminded me of Puerto Rico but I couldn't figure out what. Tamarind? Maybe piragua?
