Drank 7/22/20. Paired with grilled lamb chops.
The DOC sticker on the back has this as a "Riserva", but I see no mention of this on the label. Nose of red cherry, and a bit of heat from the alcohol, which blows off after about 30 min(14% abv). Some slight wood and earthy aromas are present, but take a back seat. Flavors of red cherry and spice with dusty tannins. Medium finish dominated by red fruit and wood notes. Give this one at least 30 minutes to settle. This will make a decent table wine, but for $1-2 more the la gitana bottling from the same producer is a no brainer.

May 8th, 2020The fruit a bit too ripe and the acidity a bit too high, but overall a very good Rioja Reserva.
