We opened the bottle with zero expectations. Twenty four years is a long tlme to spend in a bottle. It sat like an hour in the decanter.
The color was good, the bouquet was shy, but nice. The taste was silky, but obviously past its prime. But a well crafted wine will show its pedigree. Its just a matter of time. After a while, the black fruit came back, and we discovered a silky, slightly spicy aftertaste. It should have been opened a few years ago, but silk is silk. And it keeps changing! It gets sexy towards the end.
Nice adventure.
