Needed some time to open up. An hour or so into the decant and the nose came into its own as well as the tannins and alcohol mellowing out. I found it better supported with food vs. stand alone, pairing very well with grilled lamb.

The 2005 has aged well. Deep ruby red color that tastes of black cherry transitioning to an espresso finish with velvety tannins. This is my 3rd bottle from a half case. I think this wine is now in its prime drinking window!
