Very musty aroma at the start, but after breathing it open up nicely. Went well with the traditional Spanish cuisine at Alcala ristorante on 44th street & 2nd Ave in NYC. Subtle tannins, with hints of licorice. At first wasn't impressed, but I have come to appreciate this wine.

A solid older style Rioja. Great nose, soft mid-palate and medium finish.
