When I was 21, 22 I would guzzle this by the case. Not super-fruity, alcoholic or extracted. Simple yet tasty.

A deliciously complex bargain! Fruit, earth, mineral, layered.

Not my favorite, the wine gets lost on the mid-palate.

Good fruit and structure, just really really green.

MSG (monastrell, syrah, garnacha) - great with Peking Duck or Szechuan Beef

I’m an unabashed Monastrell/Mourvèdre fan. Unoaked, I love the leather, spices, and earth that come with ripe dark fruits. Big bodied and tannic. The finish is short but who cares for a wine with this crazy value.

A little off balance. The relatively high alcohol content (14%) makes it a little hot.
