Dark and opaque in the glass. Deep purple with dull, water sheen on surface. Rim has a minutely brown hue.
Aromas are hints of table Pepper, subtle cinnamon, black berry and baked flour (fried tortilla)
It's smooth and long finishing. Plums and wild black berries, to the bitter seed. A little raisiny. Somewhat overripe component. Not a lot of acidity, so the flavor comes a little quicker. A good bottle. Probably had more life when first released. Opened 10/16/15

Another silent auction wine basket win (I seem to have a very specific talent at winning these lol) and it’s…good. I’d buy it again. First taste is dried fruits, a little peppery, dry, a little alcoholy but will probably mellow and open up. UPDATE : Great with dark chocolate!

Revisiting a favorite from the days of discovering wine above the bottom shelf. Still remember the excitement of realizing why people talk about wine in such a unique, flowery manner. Who knew that for just a few dollars more I could have something connected to the land, history & people of its birthplace?
