Black licorice, black currant, black berry and smoke on the nose with heavy oak influence. The oaks smells of buttery popcorn and caramelized brown sugar. A slight dill/pickle presence is noticeable. The palate is more black cherry and HIGHLY tannic. Some good acid and subtle peppery notes. Anise, pie crust and spice add to a medium finish.

Aug 20th, 2014It has a bite to it when you first try it out of the bottle. Let it breath and the taste changes. Bitter (has that bite) at first but then becomes sweet. Over-all, happy smiles for me!! Love Navarro-Lopez wines, yummy!!!
