Beautiful wine, power, structure and balance... Anything and everything you could want, spice box aromas with rosemary and bright red fruits. Buy the 2015's from Murcia/Jumilla/Alicante they're spot on.

Savory, old world-styled monastrell. I usually give to guests looking for something along the lines of Sangiovese; I find it's full red fruit and bright acid of this wine analogous to something like a modern Brunello. This time waited a couple hours to try a glass, and the wine really unfurled-flamboyant red florals, some savory vegetal notes, lots of dried Spanish soil. A little one-note but still super tasty

Deep Crimson in colour. Closed to begin with as a result of the Wine Fridge set a little cold. Aromas of currant, blackberry, roast meats, tar and liquorice. As the wine warmed up a hint of violets came through. None of the ashtray notes I have had with previous Spanish Monastrels. Palate is ripe, full bodied and obviously from a warm climate. From near Alicante on the east coast of Spain and therefore very Mediterranean. Ultra savoury with robust tannins. Aged in 500 litres Oak Barrels so the Oak is not overdone. Overall a fairly masculine wine and not particularly liked by my better half! Tasted 2nd and last bottle 107 weeks later on 18th April 2019. Ultra savoury / so much so that the fruit is masked. Aromas of tar and violet with a certain rusticity. Medium to full bodied with fine grainy tannins.

Brown color touches, very powerful, mature fruits, leather, chinese ink. Fruit, fruit and fruit with a final wood. Very good.

Nice soft nose and palate. Balanced and lovely fruit and Earth tones. Nice acidity. Ripe fruit. Integrated with a nice finish. Moderately long and velvety finish. Oak is integrated.

Estrecho de Enrique Mendoza, capa y densidad alta, buena potencia en nariz, fruta roja madura, cacao amargo potente, notas ahumadas. En boca potente, paso con buena tanicidad y estructura, final quizás demasiado cargado de madera.

Pretty closed at the mo, nice grip, savoury style (French), needs time but has some elegance.
