I decided 2016 was the year to drink all my wines from the early '00s. This required a couple hours decanting to hit its stride. It started as an oak & fruit bomb, but then settled into something silky smooth. Enjoyed with tuna steaks. Sometimes good things come to those who wait.

Fantastic. Funky in the nose. But in the mouth, wow. Big tannins still, but some dark berries fighting through. After some air this is absolutely amazing.

Vibrant. Fresh and powerful after 15 years. You could wait more years....but why? Absolutely delicious.

High alcohol held it through 2015. This 2002 it's like superb Cabernet. Monastrell is a little know grape remains behind the c Sauvignon. Spicy with a hearty cherry it's like heaven.
