Really tight and rough around the edges upon opening. Opened up a bit after 30 minutes, but pretty disappointing overall. Especially for the 2010 vintage from Rioja. Not my favorite, but still drinkable.

Feb 28th, 2018Wine Enthusiast score of 92! Aroma is strangely enticing. Leaves in October, licorice/anise, and something I know but canāt put my finger on. Itās not that cedar and smoke thing most commonly found in those Rioja reds. A bit funkier. Flavors are tart, smokey and meaty. Plenty of cedar boxes and smokey, jerky meat. Hint of dried mint, sage, or tarragon. And cola. Essence of cola. This is a unique and complex Spanish red. Hasnāt lost a bit and could age a bit longer even. Itās earned itās score.

Apr 24th, 2020Not exactly pop and pour but what rough edges there were disappeared in 15 minutes. Aroma of baking spices and oak lead to a smooth palate of toasty black fruits. Killer with the grilled chicken. After a trip to Spain in May I wanted to add some Rioja to the cellar - this was a nice start.
