Starts with a rich, flamboyant perfume of kirsch and black raspberry, petrichor, rocks and loam, and peach skin... an awfully big gun to be waiving around with no bullets. The palate is a step or two behind, with no real delineation or layers and a slightly abrasive mouthfeel. It's rich and juicy and lots will enjoy, especially for under $15, but the nose outkicked its coverage.

Fairly tight, stingy, and tannic when first opened but starts to display black fruits, herbs, and a hint of licorice after 30 minutes or so. Great match for the meaty supreme pizza from Luigi's. $12@ Costco.
