Yellow straw with aromas of stone and tropical fruits with musty notes. The palate shows Apple, pear and melon, zesty flavors with gentle toasty oak. The finish is crisp with a mineral character, good balance. Much better than prior vintages.

Sep 18th, 2016Medium golden color. Golden Delicious apple, pineapple, butterscotch, and pie crust on the nose. Full bodied coming in at 13.5% alcohol with ripe fruit and rich texture on the palate although a bit flabby. Sourced from Carrau's "Las Violetas" vineyard's calcareous soils just 39 km north of Montevideo and then aged 6 months in new French oak on the lees. Overall, a very pleasing oaked/MLF New World Chard at this price point. $15.
