2012 Avancia Godello - Valdeorras, Spain. Fermented in oak. Drinks like a Burgundy!

Chardonesk-like varietal native to The Northewestern Iberian peninsula… Pale lemon on the eye with aromas of green pear, smith granny apple, but also hints of white flowers and rosemary. The palate is very similar to a high quality White Burgundy: medium body, medium alcohol, silky, creamy, with refreshing citrus like acidity and a lingering oaky-smoky-vanillish finish… Over the top for my expectations and budget. Cheers!

So easy to drink. Night two- not the least bitter or tart- low/no butter or oak, but low acidity.

Pale yellow color; light body; notes of pears and melon with a hint of minerality that adds character. A smooth creaminess is palpable and refreshing. Acidity is somewhat subdued, but overall is an easy drinking wine.
