Absolutely brilliant. Sweet, pure red fruit aromas. Wet concrete, tobacco, leather, smoke, savory spices. Fairly pronounced oak character, but given to time it will become increasingly integrated and harmonious. The youthful vigor and bright fruit of this wine is a thing to behold at this age. This bottle was in absolutely pristine condition. Find this wine and drink it now or hold for up to ten years- you will be rewarded.

Great expression of aged, modern style Tempranillo from one of the masters. New American oak remains assertive at nearly 20 years of age, almost dominant, but with a few minutes in the glass the wine woke up with pronounced aromas of developed black fruit, stewed meat, dried tobacco leaf and a touch of licorice.
