Bodegas Adria
Vega Montán Mencia Bierzo
As most know I'm actually Spanish at heart (or at least at tongue if not palate) and whenever I can rave about wines from the various appellations in Spain I do so. In this case I'm not quite as enthused about this Bierzo as I'd hoped I'd be. A little thin on the top end and it never really took off after being open for a while. I liked the blueberry and hint of wood but couldn't get past the lack of depth and complexity. Maybe it's just a case of expectations for a different style as I've had a few wines from the Nothern corner of Spain and liked almost all. Anyhow, maybe another try is in order but from a one try deal I can't really rave.
