An Argentine Syrah, 2007 vintage. This wine is aged in new oak barrels which gives a really deep, complex oak flavour the likes of which I have not experienced before. Surprisingly this is matched with some ripe red berry fruits that cut through the oak and lift the wine. It would be perfect with smoked cheese or red meats but I prefer it with just good company.

Great value here. Rich cassis and blackberry flavors soaked in smoked meat and new oak. Pretty big, but balanced.

Full bodied, not much wood, not plump, but fruit not as interesting, a bit acidic and missing something... ok for the price!
