It’s time for my #FridayCabernetfix. Here is a nice one from Alexander Valley.
Pretty color of dark ruby with a cloudy reddish rim.
Nice nose of black currants, blackberries, cherries, vanilla, earth, wood, spices, peppercorn, chocolates, tobacco, graphites, dark coffee and light vegetables.
Full bodied and elegant with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry and fruity on the palate with blackberries, cherries, figs, licorice, cedar, spices, peppercorn, chocolates, tobacco, herbs, leather and coffee.
Nice length on the finish with round tannins and tangy cherries.
This is a very enjoyable Cabernet Sauvignon from Sonoma County, California. Well balanced with nice complexity and an elegant mouthfeel.
Good right out of the bottle and better as it opens up (2 hours).
Needs 2 to 5 years to mature properly, and show its full capacity.
I paired it with cheeses and crackers.
100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes were aged for 22 months in 50% new French Oak barrels.
14.1% alcohol by volume.

Like Baby Blue the blueberry aromas jump right out of the glass. First glass, honestly didn't seem any better than the Baby Blue. One hour later with filet mignon the wine had opened up considerably and WOW! This is one to pair with a juicy steak🍷.

Boyfriend approved. Blueberries and a lovely smooth mouth feel that I think is a total lie with an abv of 14.1%.

Blueberry, raspberry, freshly baked fruit pie, great cab. Not sure I like it twice as much as baby blue but delicious nonetheless.
